Tender Description
The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) Engineering Department invites bids for the Improvement and Rehabilitation of Internal Streets in Ward 3 & 4, Block-Q, North Nazimabad, District Central Karachi. This tender is a significant opportunity for contractors specializing in civil and road infrastructure works to contribute to urban development in Karachi.
Items being procured:
- Excavation for pipeline trenches and pits in soft rock with trimming and dressing
- Providing fence guards, lights, flags, and temporary crossings for non-vehicular traffic
- Laying RCC pipes of ASTM 76-70 class-II in various diameters (12", 15", 18")
- Refilling excavated trenches with watering and ramming
- Construction of manholes and inspection chambers with B.B. cement sand mortar plaster
- Full hire charges of pumping sets for water removal from trenches
- Manufacturing and supplying RCC ring slabs and manhole covers
- Dismantling and removing road metalling
- Earthwork excavation in ordinary soil
- Cartage of materials like aggregates, bricks, pipes, and other construction materials
- Preparing sub-base with well-graded gravel and aggregate base coarse
- Providing and fixing cement paving blocks flooring
- Providing and fixing precast edge blocks
- Pavement marking with reflective thermo plastic paint
- Painting enamel on masonry walls (kerb blocks)
- Supplying and fixing reflectorized road studs
The scope includes comprehensive civil works such as excavation, pipe laying, manhole construction, road base preparation, paving, and finishing works. The project requires adherence to technical specifications and standards, including ASTM and AASHTO, ensuring quality and durability.
Eligibility criteria include valid PEC registration in relevant categories, NTN and SRB active taxpayer status, submission of company profile, experience certificates, machinery list, and technical staff qualifications. Bid security of 5% of the estimated cost is mandatory, along with an integrity pact and bid validity of 90 days.
Bids must be submitted electronically via the SPPRA e-Procurement system (EPADS) by 14-09-2026 at 11:00 AM. The bid opening will be conducted online on the same day. The contract duration is 90 days with a penalty of Rs. 3000 per day for delay.
