Improvement and Rehabilitation of Street Lighting System at Rashid Minhas Road from Lyari Expressway to Sohrab Goth Flyover, District Central, Karachi Metropolitan Corporation

The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation Engineering Department invites bids for the Improvement and Rehabilitation of the street lighting system at Rashid Minhas Road from Lyari Expressway to Sohrab Goth Flyover, District Central, Karachi. This tender is part of the annual procurement plan for the financial year 2026-27 and is being procured through the Single Stage One Envelope method via the EPADS e-Procurement system. Items being procured: - Providing and laying two core copper conductor PVC insulated and sheathed cable 2.5mm2, 300/500 volts, length 900 Rft - Fixing MS tubular poles of 6 meters height with specified dimensions and wall thickness, including base plates, holes, stiffeners, and painting - Construction of RCC foundations for poles with excavation, stone soiling, lean concrete, bolts, templates, rings, and concrete mix 1:2:4 - Fixing circuit breakers of various amperages on prepared boards - Fixing magnetic contractor FC80N as per instruction - Fixing 10 Amps photo cells after removing old/damaged ones - Providing and fixing LED street lights 150 Watt Aluminum die cast IP-66 with powder coated housing, minimum 150 lm/watt, CRI 70+, 10KV SPD with 3 years replacement warranty - Providing ABC connectors suitable for 16mm ABC bundle cable - Laying ABC bundle cable two core 16mm aluminum conductor - Dismantling existing 250 watt street light fittings including transportation to KMC workshop - Painting street light/high mast poles up to 31/40 ft with two coats of ICI oil paint - Providing and fixing distribution boards with locking arrangement and bus bars - Providing and fixing sets of shackle insulators, iron clamps, U-clamps with nuts, bolts, washers using motorized lifter or crane The technical scope includes complete rehabilitation and installation of street lighting infrastructure along the specified road section, ensuring compliance with electrical safety and quality standards. The site is located in District Central, Karachi. Eligibility criteria require valid PEC registration in C-6, EE-06 or above, NTN and active tax payer status, Sindh Revenue Board registration, valid electrical contractor license from Sindh Electrical Inspector, PEC registered engineer on staff, and proven experience of similar works within the last five years with financial soundness demonstrated by bank statements. Bids must be submitted online via the EPADS portal before 27 August 2026 at 2:00 PM. Bid opening will be held the same day at 2:30 PM at the Office of Superintending Engineer (E&M), 512 J.M New M.A. Jinnah Road, Gurumandir, Karachi. The bid security is 5% of the estimated cost and tender cost is Rs. 5,000. Pay orders for bid security and tender cost must be submitted physically before bid closing.
