Tender Description
The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) Engineering Department invites bids for the Improvement and Rehabilitation of Syedna Idrees Road located between Johar Road and Tipu Sultan Road in District East Karachi. This project involves comprehensive civil works aimed at enhancing the road infrastructure to improve traffic flow and safety in this busy urban area.
Items being procured:
- Excavation for pipeline in trenches and pits in soft rock
- Providing fence guards, lights, flags, and temporary crossings
- Laying RCC pipes of ASTM 76-70 class-II wall band
- Refilling excavated material in trenches with watering and ramming
- Cartage of materials like aggregates, pipes, bricks, and fuel wood
- Construction of manholes and inspection chambers with C.I manhole covers
- Full hire charges of pumping set for water removal from trenches
- Manufacturing and supplying RCC ring slabs and manhole covers
- Dismantling and removing road metalling
- Earthwork excavation in ordinary soil
- Preparing sub-base with well graded gravel
- Laying aggregate base coarse of 80% CBR
- Providing and fixing cement paving blocks flooring
- Laying 2" thick cement concrete topping
- Repair of RCC and metal pipe leakages of various diameters
The scope includes excavation, pipe laying, manhole construction, road base preparation, paving, and repair works. All materials and workmanship must comply with the latest standards and specifications. Bidders must be registered with PEC in the relevant category, possess valid NTN and SRB registrations, and demonstrate relevant experience with government projects. A bid security of 5% of the estimated cost is required along with an integrity pact.
Bids must be submitted electronically via the SPPRA e-Procurement system (EPADS) by 14th September 2026 at 11:00 AM. The technical and financial bids will be opened online on the same day at 11:30 AM. Interested bidders should ensure timely registration on the EPADS portal and comply with all SPPRA rules. The contract duration is 90 days with a penalty of Rs. 3000 per day for delay.
