Tender Description
The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation Engineering Department invites bids for the Installation of LED Street Lights at Water Pump Flyover, District Central, Karachi. This procurement is part of the ongoing efforts to improve and rehabilitate the street lighting system in the city, ensuring enhanced safety and energy efficiency.
Items being procured:
- Providing & laying two core copper conductor PVC insulated and sheeted cable 2.5mm2, 900 Rft
- Providing & fixing MS tubular poles 6 meters with base plate and stiffeners, including painting with red oxide and oil paint
- Providing and fixing LED street lights 150 Watt Aluminum die cast IP-66 with powder coated housing, minimum 150 lm/watt, CRI 70+, 10KV SPD with 3 years replacement warranty, 192 Nos.
- Providing ABC connectors suitable for 4 16mm ABC bundle cable, 210 Nos.
- Providing and laying ABC bundle cable two core 5 16mm Aluminum conductor, 1900 Mtr
- Construction of RCC foundation for poles, dismantling of existing RCC barriers, fixing MS bolts and rings, painting of poles
- Dismantling of existing 150 watt street light fittings including loading, unloading and transportation
The technical scope includes supply, installation, and commissioning of LED street lighting with all associated civil and electrical works at the Water Pump Flyover site. The work requires experienced contractors with valid PEC registration in category C-6 or EE-06 and above, valid NTN and SRB registration, and an electrical contractor license from the Government of Sindh. Bidders must have executed similar works in the last five years with financial turnover not less than the estimated cost.
Bids must be submitted online via the EPADS e-Procurement system by 27th August 2026 at 2:00 PM. The bid opening will take place on the same day at 2:30 PM at the Office of Superintending Engineer (E&M), 512 J.M New M.A. Jinnah Road, Gurumandir, Karachi. A bid security of 5% of the estimated cost and a tender fee of Rs. 5,000 are required. Late or manual submissions will not be accepted.
A practical tip for bidders: Ensure all corrections in the bid documents are initialed and stamped by the contractor to avoid rejection. Also, attach the affidavit confirming the firm is not blacklisted and submit all required documents physically along with the bid security pay order before the deadline.
