Tender Description
This tender invites qualified suppliers to provide comprehensive laboratory equipment for the Chemical Engineering Department at Dawood University of Engineering & Technology (DUET), Karachi. The procurement covers supply, installation, testing, and training of advanced lab instruments including muffle furnace, high RPM chemical mixer, pH and TDS meters, visible spectrophotometer, analytical weighing balances, thermal reactors, vacuum pumps, peristaltic pumps, jaw crusher, grinding mill, sieve shaker, vacuum evaporator, viscometer, refrigerators, sonicator, water bath, and a wide range of glassware. These items are essential for supporting research, teaching, and commercial testing activities in chemical engineering and related fields.
The equipment will be installed at DUET Karachi, a hub for advanced engineering education and research. The scope demands adherence to technical specifications ensuring durability, precision, and compliance with PEC accreditation standards. The supplier must ensure all items are new, unused, and incorporate the latest technology suitable for rigorous academic and industrial applications. The procurement also includes one year comprehensive warranty and technical support, with training provided to DUET personnel to ensure optimal utilization.
Bidders must be registered with FBR and SRB, possess valid NTN and GST certificates, and demonstrate at least five years of relevant experience in supplying lab equipment. Financial strength is evaluated based on an average annual turnover of at least PKR 20 million over the last five years. Compliance with technical specifications is mandatory, and bids will be evaluated on technical merit, delivery timeline, ISO certification, and local presence in Karachi. The supplier must submit a bid security of PKR 489,405 and provide performance security at 10% of the contract price upon award.
The submission deadline is set for 23:59:59 on the 4th of July, 2024. Bids must be submitted online via the SPPRA EPADS portal, with original bid security and tender fee submitted physically at DUET's procurement office located at New M.A. Jinnah Road, Karachi. The technical bid opening will follow as per the schedule in the NIT. All government applicable taxes will be deducted as per rules.
