Tender Description
The University of Sindh, Jamshoro, is inviting bids for the procurement of New Single Iron Beds (Cots) with Nawaher specifically for the boys' hostels at the University for the financial year 2026-2027. This procurement is managed by the Purchase & Stores Office of the University of Sindh located at Allama I.I. Kazi Campus, Jamshoro. The tender follows the Sindh Public Procurement Rules, 2010 (Amended up to date) and uses an Open Competitive Bidding method with a Single Stage – One Envelope procedure.
Items being procured:
- Single Iron Bed (Charpai Style) with Nawaher, Quantity: 700 Units
Each bed frame is made from 1.5" x 1.5" square pipe (MS Steel) with 14 SWG thickness. The Nawaher is premium pure cotton, 3" width, heavy duty weaving. The size is standard 3' x 6.5' suitable for hostel use. The beds have 3 center cross-bars (14 SWG) for maximum load capacity. The paint finish is powder coated/hammer tone with anti-rust primer. Heavy duty PVC floor protectors (leg caps) are included.
The technical scope requires strict adherence to the specifications: use of 14 SWG pipe only, premium quality Nawaher, uniform and smooth powder coating with no rust or exposed metal. A one-year replacement warranty covers welding joints, structural integrity, and manufacturing defects. The successful bidder must submit one finished sample for approval before bulk supply. The University's technical committee reserves the right to inspect materials during manufacturing.
Eligibility criteria include valid NTN, active Income Tax and Sales Tax registration, Active Taxpayer List (ATL) status, relevant experience with proof such as purchase orders and performance certificates, and minimum average annual turnover of Rs. 10 million over the last three financial years. Bidders must also submit an affidavit confirming no blacklisting and no litigation affecting contract execution.
The bidding documents are available from 9th July 2026 to 27th July 2026 at the Purchase & Stores Office. The bid submission deadline is 27th July 2026 at 11:00 AM, with bid opening at 11:30 AM the same day. Bids must be submitted electronically via the SPPRA E-PADS Portal, with original bid security and tender fee submitted physically before the deadline. Bid security is 2% of the bid price, and performance security is 5% of the contract price.
A practical tip for bidders: ensure your bid security and tender fee are submitted in the correct form and on time, as late or incomplete submissions will be rejected. Also, prepare your technical documents meticulously to meet the strict specifications and warranty requirements to avoid disqualification.
