Tender Description
The National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) invites bids for the operation and maintenance services of two passenger lifts installed at the NBP Ex-NDFC Building on Tariq Road, Karachi. This contract is for a tenure of three years and requires the service provider to ensure continuous and uninterrupted management of the lifts and all allied equipment. The scope includes preventive, routine, and annual maintenance, repair, and technical support services as per the manufacturers' specifications and applicable laws.
The service provider must deploy qualified lift technicians and operators with relevant experience and maintain all necessary tools, equipment, and safety gear at the premises. The lifts must be operated from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm Monday to Saturday, with additional services on holidays or beyond operating hours as required by NBP without extra charges. The service provider is responsible for ensuring lift availability of at least 90%, with penalties applicable for non-compliance.
Eligibility criteria include valid registration with the Pakistan Engineering Council in category C6/O6 with specialization code ME-03, active taxpayer status with FBR and Sindh Revenue Board, and no blacklisting history. Bidders must submit a bid security of Rs. 100,000 and comply with all labor and regulatory laws. The original bid security must be submitted before the closing time, and bids are to be submitted electronically through EPADS by 11:00 AM on July 6, 2026.
The contract requires submission of monthly invoices supported by evidence of timely salary disbursement to lift staff. The service provider must maintain detailed records and reports of operations and maintenance activities. The contract will be awarded to the most advantageous bidder following evaluation of technical and financial bids. Bidders are advised to carefully review the bidding documents and ensure compliance with all requirements. A practical tip for bidders is to ensure timely submission of the original bid security to avoid disqualification, as electronic submission alone is insufficient.
This tender offers a significant opportunity for qualified service providers in Karachi to engage with a reputable financial institution and deliver essential maintenance services for critical infrastructure.
