Tender Description
The Government of Sindh Program Management Unit under the Accelerated Action Plan (AAP) for Reduction of Stunting and Malnutrition in Sindh (Fisheries Sector) Karachi invites sealed bids for procurement of fish seed for the fiscal year 2026-27. This procurement is aimed at stocking fish seed in public water areas and demo/community ponds across Sindh except Manchar Lake, Jamshoro. The procurement is managed by the Program Coordinator, Accelerated Action Plan (Fisheries Sector), Karachi.
Items being procured:
- Labeo rohita (Rahu), not less than 4 inches
- Cirrhinus mirgala (Morakhi), not less than 4 inches
- Catla catla (Thaila), not less than 3 inches
- Hypophthalmichthys molitrix (Silver carp), not less than 4 inches
- Cyprinus Carpio (Gulfam), not less than 4 inches
The fish seed must conform to government policies and quality standards. The supply includes ancillary services such as transportation and insurance. Interested firms, companies, suppliers, or sole distributors must have valid registration with Income Tax and General Sales Tax (FBR). A bid security of 5% of the total allocated bid value is required in the form of Demand Draft/Call Deposit/Pay Order in favor of the Program Coordinator. The bidding method is Single Stage One Envelope Procedure, where technical and financial proposals are submitted in one envelope.
The Procuring Agency reserves the right to reject or cancel any bid or bidding process as per SPPRA rules 2010 (amended). Rates must be inclusive of all government taxes. Supply orders will be issued as per release of funds by the Finance Department. The supply must be completed within the specified time. Bids must be submitted in Pakistani Rupees.
Key dates include issuance of bidding documents from 25-11-2026 during office hours, last date for issuance 26-11-2026 before 12:00 noon, and bid submission and opening on 26-11-2026 at 12:30 pm at the Program Management Unit office, C-6, Block-F, Gulshan-e-Jamal, Rashid Minhas Road, Karachi.
Bidders are advised to carefully review the bidding documents and ensure all required documents and bid security are submitted. One practical tip is to ensure bids are complete and free of corrections or cuttings to avoid rejection. Also, bids significantly lower than 20% of the allocated bid value will be rejected to ensure quality supply.
This procurement offers a valuable opportunity for qualified suppliers to contribute to the fisheries sector development and nutritional improvement in Sindh.
