Tender Description
The National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Islamabad, is procuring furniture for 6 classrooms (CRs), 6 laboratories (Labs), and 8 faculty member offices (FMOs) of the BMES department at the SMME campus, H-12 Islamabad. This procurement includes a wide range of furniture items such as classroom chairs with tablet arms, instructor tables with chairs, notice boards, whiteboards, wooden podiums, bag shelves, demonstration tables with chairs, steel cabinets and almirahs, laboratory stools and tables, computer tables, revolving chairs, visitor chairs, faculty tables, sofas, file racks, teapoy tables, stainless steel benches, student lockers, wooden almirahs, wall clocks, door closers, dust bins, name plates, and window blinds.
The technical scope requires all items to be manufactured with high-quality materials, including powder-coated steel and laminated wood, with specifications and samples provided in annexures. The furniture must meet durability and ergonomic standards suitable for academic and laboratory environments. Suppliers must be registered manufacturers with NTN and Sales Tax registration, active on the FBR tax payer list, and registered with SECP as furniture manufacturers. They must not be blacklisted or involved in litigation and must provide a technical proposal conforming to the specifications.
Bidders are required to submit their quotations through the EPADS system using a single stage, single envelope procedure. The bid prices must be quoted in PKR, inclusive of all taxes, and valid for at least 90 days. A refundable bid security equal to 3% of the total quoted value must be attached. The warranty period for all items is a minimum of one year, including repair and maintenance coverage. The bidding documents processing fee of Rs. 5,000 must be submitted physically at the time of technical bid opening.
The submission deadline is the end of June 2024, with bids to be submitted electronically via EPADS. The procurement office is located at NUST H-12 Islamabad. A practical tip for bidders is to ensure all required documents, including NTN, Sales Tax certificates, bid security, and technical compliance forms, are complete and properly labeled to avoid rejection. Inspecting sample furniture at the P&LP Directorate before bidding is highly recommended to align quotations with required standards.
This tender offers a significant opportunity for financially sound and experienced furniture manufacturers to supply high-quality products to a prestigious academic institution in Islamabad. Strict adherence to specifications, timely submission, and compliance with all eligibility criteria will be critical for success.
