Tender Description
The National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Islamabad, is procuring furniture for 3 laboratories and 9 offices of the Research and Advanced Innovation (R&AI) Department at the SMME campus H-12, Islamabad. This procurement includes a variety of furniture items such as lab stools, lab tables, computer chairs, computer tables, instructor tables with chairs, steel almirahs, steel cabinets, rostrums, notice boards, office tables, office chairs, visitor chairs, sofa sets, file cabinets, white boards, and installation of blue open roller blinds. The detailed specifications and quantities are provided in the tender annexures.
The scope covers supply, installation, testing, integration, and commissioning of the furniture with a minimum warranty period of one year. The supplier must be a registered furniture manufacturer with NTN and Sales Tax registration, active on the FBR tax payer list, and not blacklisted or under litigation. Technical proposals must conform to the specifications attached. Earnest Money in the form of a bid security equal to 3% of the total quoted value is required. The bid price must be valid for at least 90 days after opening. Delivery time is limited to 4 weeks with an additional 2 weeks for installation and commissioning.
Bidders must submit their bids through the EPADS system following a single stage, single envelope procedure. The submission deadline is strictly enforced. The procurement department is the A/Director P&LP Directorate at NUST Islamabad. Suppliers are advised to carefully prepare their technical and financial bids, ensuring all required documents such as NTN, Sales Tax certificates, bid security, and undertakings are included. Inspection of samples is possible at the P&LP Directorate.
A practical tip for bidders is to ensure the bid security amount is exactly 3% of the quoted value and submitted as a pay order or bank draft in favor of NUST Islamabad. This avoids disqualification due to incorrect earnest money. Also, adherence to the delivery schedule and warranty terms is critical to avoid penalties and ensure contract compliance.
