Public Auction of Obsolete and Discontinued Standard Yellow Vehicle Number Plates Scrap

The Directorate General Excise and Taxation Wing Sindh, Karachi, is conducting a public auction for the disposal of obsolete and discontinued standard yellow vehicle number plates on an "as-is-where-is" basis. This auction is governed by the Sindh Delegation of Financial Powers and Financial Control Rules, 2019, and the SPP Rules, 2010. The auction involves scrapped vehicle number plates, which are to be sold based on prevailing scrap market rates with a reserve price fixed at Rs.400 per kg. Interested bidders must submit Earnest Money amounting to Rs.5,534,800, representing 20% of the total reserve price value, via Pay Order or Demand Draft in favor of the Director General, Excise & Taxation Wing Sindh. Registration documents along with the Earnest Money must be submitted in a sealed envelope to the department office by 12:00 noon on 5th August 2026. The live public auction will be held on 7th August 2026 at 03:30 pm at the Directorate General office located at Bangalow No. D-46 Block-1, Near AL-Tamash General Hospital, Clifton, Karachi. The highest bid is subject to final approval by the Head of the Administrative Department. The successful bidder must deposit the remaining balance within 3 days of approval and is responsible for all applicable government taxes, including advance tax under section 236A of the Income Tax Ordinance and applicable sales tax. The lifting period for the auctioned material is within 7 days of issuance of the delivery order. Failure to deposit the balance or lift the material within the stipulated time will result in forfeiture of Earnest Money and cancellation of the bid.
