Tender Description
The Central Ordnance Depot (COD) Karachi invites sealed bids from eligible and registered suppliers for the purchase of a comprehensive range of general stores required for military and related use. This procurement is specifically for the Central Ordnance Depot located in Karachi, Sindh. The tender includes a detailed list of items across multiple annexures (A, B, C, D, and E) covering various categories such as vehicle canopies, waterproof covers, hydraulic jacks, gases, fire extinguishers, welding rods, paints, tools, electrical equipment, kitchen and catering supplies, uniforms, and fire safety materials.
Items being procured:
- Vehicle Canopy Bodies for various truck models
- Waterproof Covers for different vehicles
- Hydraulic Jacks ranging from 1/4 Ton to 30 Ton capacity
- Technical gases including Acetylene, Argon, Nitrogen, and Oxygen
- Fire Extinguishers of various types and sizes including Dry Chemical Powder (DCP)
- Welding rods and electrodes
- Various types of grease, lubricants, and oils
- Paints and related finishing materials
- Hand tools such as spanners, wrenches, and torque tools
- Electrical items including solar lights, air fryers, and batteries
- Kitchen and catering equipment including cake pans, fry pans, and food containers
- Uniforms and hospital supplies including bed sheets, towels, gowns, and slippers
- Fire safety equipment including fire beaters, shovels, and buckets
- Miscellaneous items such as mosquito nets, study chairs, and office supplies
The technical scope requires all items to conform strictly to approved Army specifications, with brand new, unused, and freshly manufactured goods packed in durable standard packaging such as wooden boxes, cartons, or crates. Lab test reports are mandatory for all items except paints and DCP, with original reports required to accompany bids. Special instructions apply for paints and DCP samples, including submission of sealed samples and clearance certificates for paints from authorized bodies.
Eligibility is limited to firms registered with COD Karachi. Bidders must submit separate sealed envelopes for technical and financial proposals along with all required documentation including registration letters, tax certificates, CNIC, bank statements, and undertakings on judicial paper. Bids must be typed, signed, and stamped, with a soft copy on USB also required. Prices must be quoted in PKR inclusive of all taxes and valid until 30 June 2027.
The last date for bid submission is 31 August 2026 at 10:30 AM, with bid opening at 11:00 AM the same day at the Local Purchase Branch, COD Karachi. Delivery will be on an as-required basis across Pakistan. Non-compliance with specifications, incomplete documentation, or submission of forged documents will lead to disqualification and possible blacklisting.
A practical tip for bidders is to ensure strict adherence to the packaging and lab report requirements, as any deviation or missing documentation will result in outright rejection without further correspondence. Early collection of tender documents and thorough review of technical specifications is advised to prepare a compliant bid.
This tender is governed by the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) Rules, 2004, and all communications are subject to the Official Secrets Act, 1923.
