Tender Description
This tender invites sealed bids for the supply of ration and portable fresh water in jerry cans for three staff members at Cape Monze Lighthouse, and three watchmen each at Turshian Mouth and Kajhar Creek Lighthouses along the Sindh coast near Karachi. The Mercantile Marine Department, Karachi, requires these supplies for the financial year 2025-2026, covering essential food items such as rice, pulses, poultry, cooking oil, mutton, flour, vegetables, tea, sugar, and iodized salt, along with fresh water and boat fare for monthly round trips to remote lighthouse locations.
The scope involves delivering quality food items and potable water to sites located 30 km to 220 km from Karachi by road, including Rasmuari, Ketti Bunder, and Shah Bunder. The logistics challenge includes ensuring timely and safe transportation of perishable goods and water over long distances to isolated coastal locations. The department expects suppliers to maintain registered brand standards and comply with income tax and transportation charges inclusive in the rates.
Bidders should ensure they meet the Mercantile Marine Department's procurement requirements, including valid FBR registration and ATL status for the financial year 2025-26. While PEC categories are not applicable for this goods supply tender, compliance with tax and regulatory obligations is mandatory. Tender documents are available from the Administrative Officer at the Karachi Dock Labour Board Building upon payment of Rs 1,500.
The submission deadline is set for 09-March-2026 at 09:00 hours, with bid opening at 11:00 hours on the same day in the presence of bidders. Documents must be submitted in sealed envelopes to the Mercantile Marine Department office located at Plot No.58, 5th Floor, Karachi Dock Labour Board Building, Karachi.
Pro-Tip: Carefully review the tender advertisement on the Mercantile Marine Department website for any updates or clarifications. Also, ensure the Call Deposit Receipt (CDR) and Earnest Money requirements are met precisely to avoid disqualification.
