Tender Description
This tender invites qualified contractors in Karachi to undertake the reconstruction and rehabilitation of Badar Chowk Road from Badar Chowk to Madni Masjid, including the installation of drainage, sewerage, and water supply networks in District West. The project involves extensive civil works such as dismantling existing road surfaces, earth excavation, sub-base preparation, asphalt concrete laying, and installation of reinforced concrete pipes and manholes. The scope also includes electrical works like installation of street lighting poles and wiring. The site is located in a busy urban area of Karachi, requiring careful planning to minimize disruption and ensure safety. The engineering challenges include managing underground utilities, ensuring proper drainage, and maintaining traffic flow during construction.
Contractors must be registered with the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) in relevant categories and disciplines, hold valid tax registrations with FBR and Sindh Revenue Board, and demonstrate financial capability with an average annual turnover commensurate with the project size. Compliance with PEC codes, FBR Active Taxpayer List (ATL) status, and submission of an Integrity Pact are mandatory. The bid security is set at 5% of the estimated cost, and performance security at 5% of the contract price.
Bids must be submitted online via the SPPRA e-Procurement System (EPADS) by the deadline of 06 February 2026 at 11:00 AM, with bid opening scheduled the same day at 11:30 AM. The physical address for bid opening is the Office of the Chairman Procurement Committee, Engineering Department, Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, Muslimabad, Karachi.
