Tender Description
The Local Government Projects department of the Government of Sindh invites bids for the Rehabilitation of Road in Clifton Block 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 connecting to Marine Drive Road in Karachi. This project targets significant road improvements in a major residential and commercial coastal zone, aiming to enhance traffic flow, safety, and urban environment. The scope includes resurfacing, structural strengthening, and improved drainage systems to ensure long-term durability and accessibility.
Items being procured:
- Dismantling and removing road metaling
- Earth work excavation in ashes, sand, soft soil, or silt
- Cartage of excavated material
- Providing and laying aggregate base course
- Asphalt concrete base and wearing courses
- Applying priming and tack coats
- Cold milling
- Precast edge blocks and cement paving blocks for median, footpath, and islands
- Cement concrete plain and reinforced concrete works
- Cleaning of existing drains and nala
- Pavement marking and reflectorized road studs
- Electrical works including PVC insulated copper conductor cables, MS tabular poles, RCC foundations, GI arms, and lighting fixtures
The technical scope covers comprehensive civil works including carriageway rehabilitation, drainage improvements, median and footpath construction, ancillary works such as pavement marking, and electrification works. The project length is approximately 2.425 km with road widths varying from 7.3 to 11.6 meters.
Eligibility criteria require bidders to be registered with Pakistan Engineering Council in relevant categories, possess valid NTN and SRB registrations, and meet financial and technical qualifications as per the bidding documents. Bid security of Rs. 27.75 Million is required along with a non-refundable tender cost of Rs. 5,000. Bidders must submit bids through the E-Pak Acquisition and Disposable System (E-PADS) portal using the Single Stage Two Envelope procedure.
