Tender Description
This tender invites qualified contractors in Karachi to supply and install solar power systems at multiple rural school locations. The Sindh Education and Literacy Department requires robust solar panels, inverters, batteries, and mounting structures designed to withstand local weather conditions and provide reliable off-grid electricity. The project aims to enhance educational infrastructure by ensuring uninterrupted power supply for lighting, computers, and other essential equipment.
The scope includes site surveys, system design, procurement of high-quality solar components, installation, and commissioning. Contractors must consider engineering challenges such as rooftop load capacity, shading, and security of equipment in rural settings. Karachi's coastal climate demands corrosion-resistant materials and proper maintenance plans.
Bidders should hold a valid PEC Category C-5 or above license and be registered with the FBR with an active ATL status for the fiscal year 2025-26. Compliance with all tax and regulatory requirements is mandatory. Earnest Money in the form of a Call Deposit Receipt (CDR) must accompany the Technical Bid as per tender documents.
The submission deadline is set for 15 May 2024 at 23:59:59, with bid opening scheduled on the following day at 10:00 AM. Bids must be submitted in sealed envelopes to the Procurement Office, Sindh Education and Literacy Department, Karachi. Late submissions will not be entertained.
Pro-Tip: Carefully review the tender advertisement for specific stamp duty and bid security requirements, as these are often overlooked and can lead to disqualification.
