Tender Description
The Punjab Highways Department invites bids for the special repair and rehabilitation of metalled roads in Pakpattan and Arifwala. The works include the repair of the road from Pakpattan-Kamir Road (Adda 10/EB) to Chak No.8/EB in Tehsil Arifwala, Pakpattan, covering a length of 3.50 kilometers, and the rehabilitation of the metalled road from Pul Jurian 84/EB to Chak No.88/EB, also in Tehsil Arifwala, Pakpattan, with a length of 1.00 kilometer. These projects are critical for improving local infrastructure and ensuring better connectivity in the region.
The technical scope involves laying rigid pavement using concrete batching plants and concrete paving machines. Surfacing will be executed by mechanized systems such as TST/DST. The contractor will be responsible for recovery against credit of old materials, which will be adjusted manually. The contract duration for each project is six months. Bidders must quote item rates and total amounts in their financial proposals, with strict adherence to the estimated costs to avoid disqualification.
Eligible contractors must be registered with the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) in the relevant category for the financial year 2025-26. Registration on the Punjab PPRA website is mandatory. Earnest money must be submitted in the form of a CDR at 5% of the estimated cost in favor of the Executive Engineer Highways Division Pakpattan. Performance security of 10% of the contract amount is required within 15 days of the offer letter issuance.
The submission deadline is 15th July 2026 at 12:30 PM, with bids to be uploaded on the PPRA e-tendering system. Original CDRs must be furnished half an hour before bid opening. Bidders are advised to attend the bid opening at the office of the Commissioner Sahiwal Division. A practical tip for bidders is to ensure all documents, especially CDRs and PEC licenses, are authentic and valid to avoid disqualification and disciplinary action.
