Tender Description
The Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (PCRWR), operating under the Ministry of Water Resources, Government of Pakistan, Karachi office, is procuring laboratory chemicals, reagents, microbiological media, consumables, glassware, and plasticware for its Water Quality Laboratory. This procurement is specific to Karachi, Sindh Province, and aims to support physical, chemical, and microbiological testing and analysis.
The technical scope includes supply of analytical grade chemicals such as Ammonium Chloride, Boric Acid, Ethyl Alcohol, Silver Nitrate, and various reagents and media like SPADNS reagent for Fluoride, TCBS Agar, Coliform Agar, and membrane filters. It also covers laboratory consumables including glass pipettes, beakers, volumetric flasks, conical flasks, funnels, measuring cylinders, wash bottles, distilled water storage containers, and magnetic bars. All items must be new, unused, properly labeled with valid manufacturing and expiry dates, and compliant with the technical specifications outlined in the Bill of Quantities (BOQ). Delivery, safe transportation, and installation at the designated laboratory location in Karachi are required.
Eligible bidders must be registered with the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) with valid NTN and Sales Tax registration, possess relevant experience, and demonstrate financial and technical capacity. The tender requires submission of two separate sealed envelopes for Technical and Financial Proposals along with a Bid Security of 5% of the estimated cost. The tender validity is 150 days from the opening date. The deadline for bid submission is **28th April 2026 at 11:00 AM**, with bid opening at 11:30 AM on the same day at PCRWR Regional Office, Karachi.
A practical tip for bidders is to ensure that the Technical Proposal clearly specifies the make, model, and country of origin of all quoted materials, as this is mandatory for technical evaluation. Also, bids must be submitted through the E-Procurement system (EPADS) to be considered valid. Non-compliance with submission requirements or late bids will be rejected. The earnest money in the form of Demand Draft, Pay Order, or Call Deposit from a scheduled bank must accompany the bid. Bidders should also prepare for a performance guarantee of 10% of the contract amount and a defect liability period of three months after delivery.
This tender offers a significant opportunity for suppliers experienced in laboratory consumables and chemicals to engage with a reputable government research institution with a clear and structured procurement process.
