Tender Description
The Export Processing Zones Authority (EPZA) under the Ministry of Industries and Production Karachi is procuring a comprehensive range of uniforms and fire safety equipment for its various zones including KEPZ, SEPZ, REPZ, and GEPZ. This procurement specifically targets suppliers capable of delivering high-quality, fully stitched uniforms in multiple sizes and styles for both men and women, including commando color shirts, pants, shoes, socks, leather belts, caps, badges, raincoats, jackets, and other related items. Additionally, fire safety gear such as temperature-resistant aramid fabric suits, fire shoes, cotton belts, and caps are included in the scope. The uniforms must be delivered clean, dry, pressed, and packaged to avoid damage during transit. The supplier must ensure the use of strong thread for stitching with a one-year warranty on stitching and color fastness, including free re-stitching or replacement if defects occur. The department requires delivery within thirty days of the purchase order at the EPZA Head Office Karachi.
Eligible bidders must have a registered office in Karachi with a valid phone number and must be actively operating in the market. Firms must possess valid Income Tax Number, General Sales Tax Number, Sales Tax Registration Number (STRN), and vendor registration linked with FBR. Submission of registration certificates with the Sales Tax Department is mandatory. The firm should have a minimum of five years' experience in supplying similar items, verified from the date of NTN/GST certificate issuance. Earnest Money in the form of a pay order or bank draft not exceeding 5% of the bid price is required as bid security. The bid security of successful bidders will be retained until completion of the contract and returned thereafter, while unsuccessful bidders will receive their security after tender finalization.
The bid opening is scheduled for 07-05-2026 at 11:30 a.m. at the EPZA office, where bidders or their authorized representatives may attend. The department emphasizes strict adherence to quality, quantity, and specifications as per approved samples. Any substandard supply may lead to cancellation of the contract and blacklisting of the supplier. The department reserves the right to increase or decrease quantities and expects suppliers to meet emergent demands promptly. Delivery must be made without additional charges, and 10% retention money will be deducted from the final bill, refundable after one year.
A practical tip for bidders is to personally visit the KEPZ to inspect the sample uniforms and styles before submitting their bids. This ensures clarity on quality expectations and reduces the risk of disqualification due to non-compliance with specifications. Timely submission of all required documents and earnest money is crucial to avoid rejection. This tender offers a significant opportunity for experienced Karachi-based suppliers specializing in uniform and safety equipment supply to secure a government contract with clear terms and conditions.
