Tender Description
The Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO) is procuring 200KVA Distribution Transformers for delivery to its regional stores in Multan, Bahawalpur, Sahiwal, and D.G. Khan. This procurement is planned for the financial year 2026-27 and aims to enhance the electrical distribution infrastructure in the Punjab region. The transformers must conform to the DDS-84:2020 specification (amended to-date) and be supplied on a free delivery basis to the consignee stores.
The technical scope includes supply of 250 units of 200KVA distribution transformers with all taxes, duties, and 0.5% inspection charges included in the price but excluding GST. Delivery is scheduled in three phases: 30% within 60 days, 30% within 90 days, and the remaining 40% within 120 days or earlier. Inspection will be conducted at the supplier's premises by MEPCO representatives and the Chief Engineer (M.I) Lahore, including random testing of up to 5% of transformers at EHV Lab Rawat to verify iron and copper losses. Transportation costs for testing are borne by the supplier, while testing costs are covered by MEPCO.
Eligible bidders must be registered with FBR, possess valid PEC categories, and have prior supply experience with MEPCO or other DISCOs. Bidders must submit a bid security and comply with all tender conditions including bid validity of 120 days. The submission deadline is Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at 10:00 AM via EPADS v2.0, with manual bids not accepted. The bid opening will occur the same day at 10:30 AM. The procurement will follow Least Cost Based Selection (LCBS) criteria.
A practical tip for bidders is to ensure timely registration on EPADS v2.0 and submit all required documents including bid security physically before the deadline to avoid disqualification.
