Tender Description
This tender invites qualified firms in Karachi to supply and install a new addressable fire alarm system at the Main Store of Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works Limited. The department requires a modern, reliable fire detection system to enhance safety and compliance at its West Wharf facility. The project involves procurement of advanced fire alarm components and professional installation, ensuring full integration with existing safety infrastructure.
The scope includes supply of addressable fire alarm panels, detectors, manual call points, and wiring, followed by expert installation at the Karachi site. The engineering challenge lies in retrofitting the system within an operational shipyard environment, demanding minimal disruption and adherence to stringent safety standards. The contractor must ensure all materials meet industry specifications and local regulations.
Bidders must be registered with PEC and hold valid FBR and SRB registrations. The tender requires submission of a Technical Bid with a pay order of PKR 400,000 as Earnest Money. Firms should verify their PEC category and ensure their tax status is active on the ATL for the financial year 2025-26. This compliance is crucial to avoid disqualification and to meet government procurement rules.
The submission deadline is set for 11:00 AM on 10th February 2026, with Technical Bids opening at 11:30 AM the same day. Bids must be delivered in sealed envelopes to the office of Services and Civil Works at Karachi Shipyard, West Wharf, Dockyard Road, Karachi. Financial Bids of technically qualified firms will be opened later, with dates communicated accordingly.
Pro-Tip: Make sure to carefully check the newspaper advertisement for specific stamp duty and bid security requirements, as these are often overlooked and can lead to bid rejection. Also, ensure your Technical Bid clearly demonstrates post-qualification criteria to avoid delays in evaluation.
