Tender Description
This tender invites experienced contractors in Karachi to undertake the annual improvement and maintenance of various parks and green belts across multiple districts including South, East, Central, Korangi, West, and Baloch Tombs area. The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation's Parks and Horticulture Department requires civil works such as dismantling cement concrete, laying dry rammed bricks, cement paving blocks, and construction of park infrastructure including lighting and irrigation systems. The scope also covers landscaping, fencing, playground equipment installation, and decorative plantings.
The projects involve extensive use of construction materials like cement, bricks, steel reinforcement, and finishing materials. The sites are spread across Karachi's urban districts, presenting logistical and engineering challenges such as maintaining green spaces in densely populated areas and ensuring sustainable irrigation and lighting systems. Contractors must be registered with PEC in relevant categories and hold valid licenses and NTN certificates.
Bidders should ensure compliance with PEC category C-4 or above and specialized codes CE-01, CE-09, CE-10, BC-02, and CE-11. Valid registration with Sindh Revenue Board and Federal Board of Revenue with active status is mandatory. The tender requires submission of audited financial reports, machinery lists, and bank statements for the last three years. The financial year 2025-26 compliance includes submitting bids through the EPAD system and providing earnest money in the form of Call Deposit Receipt.
The submission deadline is set for 16 March 2026 at 2:00 PM, with bid opening at 3:00 PM at the Office of the Director General Parks & Horticulture Department, KMC, inside Bagh-e-Jinnah, Fatima Jinnah Road, Karachi. Bidders must submit sealed tenders via the EPAD system and physically deliver the bid security and tender cost to the procurement committee office before the opening time.
Pro-Tip: Carefully review the newspaper advertisement for specific stamp duty and bid security requirements, as these are often overlooked and can lead to disqualification. Ensure all pages of the bid are signed and stamped by the authorized representative to avoid rejection.
