Tender Description
This tender invites qualified contractors in Karachi to undertake beautification works across all stations of the BRT Orange Line Corridor under the Sindh Mass Transit Authority, Transport and Mass Transit Department, Government of Sindh. The project focuses on enhancing station aesthetics through architectural feature walls, LED lighting, decorative dust bins, plantation pots, murals, and stone benches, ensuring a modern and welcoming environment for commuters. The scope covers fabrication, installation, and finishing of aluminum and ACP panels, LED bollard lights, totem signage, and artistic wall treatments at multiple stations including Ponay Panch, Abdullah College, and Jinnah University.
The works require expertise in civil construction and finishing, with attention to quality materials and compliance with approved designs. Contractors must prepare for site mobilization in Karachi, manage logistics for materials and equipment, and ensure safety and environmental standards are met. The project demands coordination with the Engineer-in-Charge for approvals and quality assurance, including PEC registration in category C-4 or above with specialization codes CE-10 & CE-01.
Bidders should ensure valid PEC registration, FBR tax compliance, and submit audited financial statements demonstrating sound financial health. The tender requires submission of technical and financial bids in sealed envelopes, with a bid security of PKR 1.5 million. The contract includes a 120-day completion period, a 180-day defects liability period, and a 5% performance security. Compliance with Sindh Sales Tax on Construction Services is mandatory.
The submission deadline is set for the end of February 2026, with bids to be delivered by hand or courier to the Director Infrastructure & Planning at the Sindh Mass Transit Authority office in Clifton, Karachi. Technical bids will be opened publicly, followed by financial bids of qualified bidders. All bids must be in English and comply with the SPPRA Rules 2010 as amended.
Pro-Tip: Carefully review the bid security and integrity pact requirements to avoid disqualification. Ensure all documents are signed, stamped, and submitted in the prescribed format. Pay special attention to PEC category compliance and the detailed evaluation criteria to maximize scoring potential.
