Tender Description
The Dr. Panjwani Center for Molecular Medicine and Drug Research at the University of Karachi is procuring a Digital PCR System to enhance its molecular diagnostic capabilities. This procurement is specifically for Karachi, Sindh, and aims to equip the center with advanced technology for absolute quantification of DNA/RNA molecules without the need for a standard curve.
The system must be a standalone fully automated unit with user-friendly software, capable of partitioning each reaction into at least 17,000 micro-reactions and handling input volumes of 10µl or less. It should support both TaqMan probes and EVA Green DNA binding chemistry, and be compatible with human disease diagnostic assays including mutation detection, copy number analysis, and methylation analysis. The system requires multiplexing capability with at least 7 fluorescent detection channels and a dynamic range of 5 orders of magnitude or better. It must run a minimum of 96 reactions per run and include all necessary accessories such as computers and printers. The procurement also includes consumables for 192 samples as a starter package, EQ/OQ validation, and training for at least two staff members.
Eligible bidders must have a complete company profile, valid FBR/ATL registration, and a minimum annual turnover equal to or exceeding the bid amount for the last three financial years. A minimum of three years relevant experience and an authorization letter from the manufacturer for sales and service are mandatory. The bid security is 2% of the bid value, and performance security is 5% of the purchase order value. Bids must be prepared in English and submitted in a single stage one envelope procedure as per SPP Rules 2010 (updated 2013).
The deadline for bid submission is **02-06-2026 12:00 PM**, with bids to be delivered to the Purchase Office, ICCBS-UoK, Karachi. Bidders should ensure their bids are complete with all required documents including the summary sheet, bid security, and authorization letters. Late or conditional bids will be rejected.
A practical tip for bidders is to carefully review the technical specifications and ensure all required documents, especially the authorization letter and financial proofs, are included to avoid disqualification. Early submission is advised to avoid last-minute issues and to comply with the strict bid opening schedule.
