Tender Description
The Abandoned Properties Organization (APO), Government of Pakistan Karachi, invites Expressions of Interest (EOI) for the engagement of an experienced Advocate on a contractual basis with monthly retainership. The Advocate will provide representation, legal advisory services, and conduct litigation in high-value cases involving recovery of public funds and movable assets. The matters include complex issues related to banking transactions, securities, Pakistan Investment Bonds (PIBs), Treasury Bills (T-Bills), listed shares, financial fraud, accountability proceedings, and corporate disputes before various courts, tribunals, and accountability forums.
Items being procured:
- Engagement of experienced Advocate for legal representation and advisory
- Handling litigation in high-value recovery cases
- Legal services related to banking, securities, PIBs, T-Bills, shares, financial fraud
- Accountability and corporate dispute litigation
The Advocate must be duly registered and authorized to practice law in Pakistan with at least ten years of experience in corporate, banking, financial, commercial, and recovery litigation. Preference will be given to those with demonstrated experience representing public sector organizations, regulatory authorities, financial institutions, banks, or government departments. The Advocate should provide details of major cases handled in the last five years involving significant financial stakes and produce valid NTN, income tax, and sales tax registration certificates where applicable.
Interested Advocates shall submit a profile/CV, list of major reported and unreported cases handled, details of public sector clients served, an affidavit of truthfulness, declaration of absence of conflict of interest, confidentiality undertaking, compliance declaration with APO directions, and a financial proposal/fee structure in a separate sealed envelope. Details of subject cases may be obtained from APO Karachi through personal visit or contact number provided.
The EOIs will be evaluated by a committee constituted by APO. Shortlisted Advocates may be invited for presentation/interview. EOIs must be submitted in sealed envelopes clearly marked 'EOI for Engagement of Advocate' within fifteen days of publication at the address below.
A practical tip for bidders: Ensure your financial proposal is clear and competitive, and all supporting documents are complete to avoid disqualification. Early submission is advised to allow time for any clarifications or additional information requests by APO.
