Tender Description
The National Telecommunication Corporation (NTC) Islamabad is procuring an extension of its existing Optical Fiber Cable (OFC) network to enhance connectivity for the E-Office at the Pakistan Museum of Natural History located in Shakarparian, Islamabad. This project involves the supply and installation of fiber optic cables, HDPE pipes, joint enclosures, and related accessories as detailed in the Bill of Quantities (BOQ). The scope includes excavation in both kacha and pacca trenches, cable laying, splicing, fixing of OFDF, and road bore works to ensure seamless network expansion.
The technical scope requires adherence to NTC and PTCL specifications, including the use of 12 fiber SM OFC G.652 D cables, HDPE pipes of 1 inch diameter, and preloaded OFDF with adapters and pigtails. The contractor must complete the work within eight weeks from the date of contract signing or receipt of necessary permissions. The project demands high-quality workmanship and compliance with safety and technical standards.
Eligibility criteria mandate that bidders must be registered with PEC in category C-6 or above, possess valid FBR registration with ATL status, and have completed at least two similar projects in Pakistan. Bidders must also submit an affidavit confirming they are not blacklisted and that no items of Indian or Israeli origin are included. Earnest Money of Rs. 20,000 is required with the bid. Technical and financial bids will be opened simultaneously, and the contract will be awarded to the lowest financially evaluated and technically qualified bidder.
The tender documents are available at the NTC Regional Headquarters, F-5/1 Islamabad, and bids must be submitted electronically via the PPRA EPADS portal by 10:30 AM on April 28, 2026. The bid opening will occur the same day at 11:00 AM in the presence of bidders' representatives. Bidders are advised to conduct a physical engineering survey of the site at their own expense before bidding to understand site conditions fully. This practical step helps avoid unforeseen issues during execution and ensures accurate pricing and timely completion.
This tender offers a significant opportunity for qualified contractors to contribute to Islamabad's digital infrastructure enhancement under the auspices of the National Telecommunication Corporation.
