Tender Description
The Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi invites bids for the providing, installation, testing, and commissioning of a Fire Hydrant System at its Main Campus located in Karachi. This procurement is specifically managed by the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi, situated in the city of Karachi, Sindh province. The scope of work includes supply and installation of a comprehensive fire hydrant system comprising a 500 US GPM electric fire pump, a jockey pump, fire pump controllers, piping, valves, hydrants, fire hose reels, and associated accessories. The system must comply with NFPA-20 standards and include components such as electric motor-driven vertical turbine pumps, jockey pumps, and UL/FM approved fire pump controllers housed in NEMA Type 4X enclosures. The technical specifications require materials like seamless black steel pipes, cast iron valves, stainless steel fittings, and fire-resistant paint coatings. The installation also covers construction of an RCC underground pump room with proper ventilation and access, along with electrical and fire sensing lines. Eligible bidders must be registered with PEC in category C-6 or above with specialization ME-02, and must be active taxpayers registered with FBR and relevant provincial tax authorities. Bidders should have experience in similar fire hydrant system projects and provide technical data sheets, warranty certificates for at least 10 years, and proof of spare parts availability for the same period. The tender fee is Rs. 5,000 non-refundable. The submission deadline is **June 3, 2026 at 3:00 PM**, with bid opening at 3:30 PM on the same day at IBA Main Campus Karachi. Bids must be submitted through the SPPRA EPADS system and original bid security must be delivered to the Head of Procurement at IBA Karachi before bid opening. The bid security is 2% of the estimated cost, and performance security is 5% of the contract price. The contract period for completion is 120 days from commencement. A pre-bid meeting will be held on May 22, 2026 at 12:00 PM at IBA Main Campus Karachi. Bidders are advised to carefully review the technical specifications and ensure compliance with all requirements including submission of all mandatory documents such as joint venture agreements if applicable, integrity pact, and affidavits. One practical tip for bidders is to ensure early purchase and thorough review of the tender documents and to attend the pre-bid meeting to clarify any technical or procedural queries. This will help in preparing a responsive and competitive bid, avoiding common pitfalls such as incomplete documentation or non-compliance with technical standards. The procurement process is governed by SPPRA rules and the Employer reserves the right to reject any or all bids without assigning any reason.
