Fumigation and Spraying Services for Wheat Stocks in Karachi Region

The Regional Directorate of Food Karachi Region is inviting bids for comprehensive fumigation and spraying services for wheat stocks stored in various godowns across Karachi. This procurement is specifically for the treatment of approximately 180,000 metric tons of wheat stocks including the godowns, jute bags, and surrounding areas to control flying and creeping insects as well as rodents. Items being procured: - Fumigation of wheat stocks using Aluminum Phosphide tablets - Spraying of godowns inside and outside walls and floors - Use of registered chemicals including Aluminum Phosphide Tablets, Methyl Bromide (CH3Br), Delta Methrine 25 EC, and Polythene Sheets - Provision of fumigant tablets, pesticides, polythene sheets, sealing machines, sand bags (5" x 36" or required size), spraying equipment, skilled labor, and transport The technical scope requires the bidder to complete fumigation within two weeks per store, ensuring all equipment is removed post-job to allow access. The contractor must apply a minimum dose of 3 tablets per cubic meter of Aluminum Phosphide or 80 grams of Methyl Bromide per cubic meter. The contract includes three sprays at two-month intervals and guarantees stock safety for nine months post-fumigation. The bidder must provide all materials, skilled manpower, and equipment on site, including safety gear such as gas masks, gloves, goggles, and helmets. Eligibility criteria include a minimum of three years registration with the Department of Plant Protection, relevant fumigation experience with provincial or federal food departments, and compliance with SPPRA rules.
