Tender Description
The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) Engineering Department invites bids for the Improvement and Rehabilitation of road and sewerage system at Ward 3, UC-05 Gadap Town, District Malir, Karachi. This tender is issued under the standard bidding documents for works contracts ranging between Rs. 2.5 million to Rs. 50 million. The project involves comprehensive civil works including excavation, pipe laying, road base preparation, asphalt paving, and installation of sewerage manholes and related infrastructure.
Items being procured:
- Excavation for pipeline trenches and pits in soft rock
- Provision of fence guards, lights, flags, and temporary crossings
- Supply and laying of RCC pipes of 300 mm and 375 mm diameter
- Refilling excavated trenches with compaction
- Carriage of materials like stone aggregate, bricks, tiles, timber, and fuel wood
- Construction of manholes and inspection chambers with B.B walls and cement plaster
- Hire charges for pumping sets for water removal from trenches
- Manufacturing and supply of RCC ring slabs and manhole covers
- Dismantling and removing road metaling
- Earthwork excavation in ordinary soil
- Preparation of sub-base with graded gravel
- Supply and laying of aggregate base coarse
- Laying of 2" thick asphalt concrete pavement
- Supply and fixing of cement paving blocks flooring
- Supply and fixing of precast edge blocks
- Pavement marking with reflective thermo plastic paint
- Painting of masonry walls for kerb blocks
- Supply and fixing of reflectorized road studs
The technical scope covers all civil and sanitary works as per the detailed bill of quantities and specifications provided by KMC. Bidders must be registered with Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) in the relevant category and possess valid NTN and Sindh Revenue Board (SRB) registration. Experience in similar government sector works and submission of earnest money in the form of pay order, CDR, or bank guarantee is mandatory. The bid security is 5% of the estimated cost.
Bids must be submitted electronically via the SPPRA e-Procurement system (EPADS) by 11 August 2026 at 11:30 AM. The technical and financial bids will be opened online on the same day. Physical submission of bids is not accepted. The bid validity period is 90 days. Performance security of 5% of the contract amount will be required from the successful bidder.
A pre-bid meeting will be held at Camp Office #01, Behind Dawood Engineering University, Muslimabad, Karachi. Bidders are advised to carefully review the bidding documents and ensure compliance with all requirements including submission of integrity pact and audit reports.
