Tender Description
The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation Engineering Department invites bids for the Improvement and Rehabilitation of the street lighting system at 5000 Road from Nagan Flyover to 4K Chowrangi North Karachi District Central. This tender is part of the annual procurement plan for the financial year 2026-27 and is being procured through the Single Stage One Envelope method via the EPADS e-Procurement system.
Items being procured:
- Providing and laying two core copper conductor PVC insulated and sheathed cable 2.5mm2
- Fixing MS tubular poles of 31ft/40ft height with base plates, holes, stiffeners, and window making
- Construction of RCC foundations for poles
- Manufacturing and fixing GI double arm canopy type fittings
- Installation of circuit breakers of various amperages
- Fixing magnetic contractors FC80N
- Installation of 10 Amps photo cells
- Providing and fixing LED street lights 150 Watt Aluminum die cast IP-66 with powder coated housing
- Installation of ABC connectors and ABC bundle cables 16mm aluminum conductor
- Fixing shackle insulators, iron clamps, U-clamps with nuts and bolts
- Painting of street light/high mast poles with two coats of ICI oil paint
- Providing and fixing distribution boards with locking arrangements and bus bars
- Installation of surge protect devices and LED light drivers
The technical scope includes complete rehabilitation of the street lighting system including cable laying, pole installation, electrical fittings, and painting. The site is located in Karachi, Sindh province.
Eligibility criteria require valid PEC registration in C-6, EE-06 or above, NTN certificate, active tax payer status, Sindh Revenue Board registration, valid electrical contractor license from the Government of Sindh (Karachi Region), PEC registered engineer on staff, and proven experience of similar works in the last five years with financial soundness demonstrated by bank statements.
The bid security is 5% of the estimated cost, and the performance security is 5% of the estimated cost plus 5% retention from bills. The bid validity period is 90 days. Bids must be submitted online via EPADS by 27-08-2026 at 2:00 PM and will be opened the same day at 2:30 PM at the Office of Superintending Engineer (E&M), 512 J.M New M.A. Jinnah Road Gurumandir Karachi.
Bidders must submit pay orders for bid security and tender cost, along with affidavits confirming no blacklisting. Late or manual bids will be rejected. The procuring agency reserves the right to reject any or all bids as per SPPRA rules.
