Tender Description
The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation Engineering Department invites bids for the Improvement and Rehabilitation of the street lighting system at Sharah-e-Liaquat and Hasrat Mohani Road in District South, Karachi. This procurement is part of the ongoing efforts to enhance public infrastructure and ensure better lighting for safety and convenience in the area.
Items being procured:
- Providing and laying main or sub-main PVC insulated and PVC sheeted two core copper conductor cable 2.5mm2 (1100 Rft)
- Providing and fixing MS tubular poles of 6 meters height with specified dimensions and wall thickness, including base plates, holes, stiffeners, and painting
- Construction of RCC foundations for poles with excavation, stone soiling, lean concrete, bolts, templates, rings, and reinforcement
- Manufacturing and fixing GI single arm double arch as per site requirements
- Providing and fixing circuit breakers of various amperages on prepared boards
- Providing and fixing magnetic contractors FC80N
- Providing and fixing 10 Amps photo cells (National Japan)
- P/F ABC connectors suitable for 16mm ABC bundle cable
- P/L ABC bundle cable two core 16mm aluminum conductor
- Providing and fixing distribution boards with locking arrangements and bus bars
- Providing and fixing LED street lights 150 Watt Aluminum die cast IP-66 with powder coated housing, minimum 150 lm/watt, CRI 70+, 10KV SPD with 3 years replacement warranty
The technical scope includes supply, installation, and commissioning of electrical components and civil works related to street lighting rehabilitation. The site is located in Karachi's District South, requiring experienced contractors with valid PEC registration in category C-6 or EE-06 and above, NTN and SRB registration, valid electrical contractor license from the Government of Sindh, and proof of PEC registered engineer on staff. Contractors must have executed similar works in the last five years with financial soundness demonstrated by bank statements and turnover matching the estimated cost.
Bids must be submitted online via the EPADS e-Procurement system by 10:00 AM on 21-08-2026, with bid opening at 10:30 AM the same day at the Office of Superintending Engineer (E&M), 512 J.M New M.A. Jinnah Road, Gurumandir, Karachi. A bid security of 5% of the estimated cost and a tender cost of Rs. 5,000 are required. Pay orders for bid security and tender cost must bear the firm's name. Affidavit of non-blacklisting on Rs. 200 stamp paper is mandatory.
