Improvement and Rehabilitation of Street Lighting System at Nawab Siddiq Ali Khan Road from Board Office to Golimar Chowrangi District Central Karachi

The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation Engineering Department invites bids for the Improvement and Rehabilitation of the street lighting system at Nawab Siddiq Ali Khan Road from Board Office to Golimar Chowrangi in District Central, Karachi. This tender is part of the financial year 2026-27 annual procurement plan and aims to upgrade the existing street lighting infrastructure to enhance safety and visibility in the area. Items being procured: - Providing and laying two core copper conductor PVC insulated and PVC sheathed cable 2.5mm2, 1100 Rft - Providing and fixing MS tubular poles 31ft long with base plate, holes, stiffeners, and painting - Construction of RCC foundations for poles including excavation, stone soiling, lean concrete, and reinforcement - Manufacturing and fixing GI double arm canopy type with MS clamps and nuts & bolts - Providing and fixing circuit breakers of various amperages on prepared boards - Providing and fixing magnetic contractor FC80N - Providing and fixing 10 Amps photo cells after removal of old/damaged ones - Providing and fixing LED street lights 150 Watt Aluminum die cast IP-66 with powder coated housing and SPD - Providing ABC connectors and laying ABC bundle cable 16mm two core aluminum conductor - Painting of street light/high mast poles with two coats of ICI oil paint - Providing and fixing distribution boards with locking arrangements and bus bars - Fixing components of LED lights at height including surge protect devices and drivers The technical scope includes installation of new LED street lights, replacement and rehabilitation of existing electrical wiring and poles, construction of foundations, and ensuring all materials and workmanship comply with the specifications and instructions of the Electrical Inspector and Engineer Incharge. The site is located in Karachi, and all works must be executed with due care and in accordance with the contract documents. Eligibility criteria require bidders to have valid PEC registration in category C-6 or EE-06 and above, NTN certificate, active tax payer status, registration with Sindh Revenue Board, valid electrical contractor license from the Government of Sindh (Karachi Region), and proof of PEC registered engineer working with the firm. Bidders must have executed similar works in the past five years with at least one work equivalent to 80% of the estimated cost or two works equivalent to 50% of the estimated cost. Financial soundness must be demonstrated with a minimum annual turnover not less than the estimated cost. The bid security is 5% of the estimated cost, and the tender cost is Rs. 5,000. Bids must be submitted online via the EPADS system before 27-08-2026 at 2:00 PM. The bid opening will take place on the same day at 2:30 PM at the Office of Superintending Engineer (E&M), 512 J.M New M.A. Jinnah Road Gurumandir Karachi. Physical submission of bid security pay orders and supporting documents is also required before the closing time. The procurement method is Single Stage One Envelope.
