Tender Description
The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation Engineering Department invites bids for the Improvement & Rehabilitation of the Street Lighting System at Sharah-e-Attar, District South, Karachi. This procurement is part of the annual procurement plan for the financial year 2026-27 and aims to enhance the street lighting infrastructure to improve safety and visibility in the area.
Items being procured:
- Providing & laying two core copper conductor PVC insulated and sheeted cable 2.5mm2, 300/500 volts, quantity 1200 Rft
- Providing and fixing circuit breakers of various amperages (15, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 75 & 100 Amps T.P.) on prepared boards, quantity 28 Nos
- Providing and fixing magnetic contractor FC80N, quantity 14 Nos
- Providing and fixing 10 Amps photo cells (National Japan) after removing old/damaged photo cells, quantity 2 Nos
- Providing and fixing LED street lights 150 Watt Aluminum die cast IP-66 with powder coated housing, 77 Nos
- Dismantling street light poles 31/40 ft with hydraulic crane including loading, unloading and transportation, 77 Nos
- Providing/fixing ABC connectors suitable for 16mm ABC bundle cable with hydraulic crane and manual labor, 95 Nos
- Painting street light/high mast poles up to 31/40 ft with two coats of ICI oil paint, 38 Nos
The technical scope includes rehabilitation of existing street lighting systems, replacement of damaged components, installation of energy-efficient LED lights, and painting of poles to ensure durability and improved aesthetics. The work will be executed under the supervision of the Executive Engineer, CM(E&M), Engineering Department, Karachi Metropolitan Corporation.
Eligibility criteria require bidders to have valid PEC registration in categories C-6, EE-06 or above, NTN certificate, active tax payer status, registration with Sindh Revenue Board, valid electrical contractor license from the Government of Sindh (Karachi Region), and proven experience of similar works executed in the last five years. Financial soundness must be demonstrated with a minimum annual turnover not less than the estimated cost.
Bids must be submitted online through the EPADS system by 21-08-2026 at 10:00 AM. The bid opening will take place on the same day at 10:30 AM at the Office of the Superintending Engineer (E&M), 512 J.M New M.A. Jinnah Road, Gurumandir, Karachi. A bid security of 5% of the estimated cost and a tender cost of Rs. 5,000/- are required. Pay orders for bid security and tender cost must bear the name of the bidding firm.
