Tender Description

The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation Engineering Department invites bids for the Improvement and Rehabilitation of the Street Lighting System at Sharah-e-Saadi, District South, Karachi. This procurement is part of the annual procurement plan for the financial year 2026-27 and aims to enhance the street lighting infrastructure to improve safety and visibility in the area. Items being procured: - Providing and laying two core copper conductor PVC insulated and PVC sheathed cable 2.5mm2, 1900 Rft - Installation of circuit breakers of various amperages (15, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 75 & 100 Amps T.P. XS-100NS), 28 Nos - Providing and fixing Magnetic Contractor FC80N, 3 Nos - Installation of 10 Amps Photo cells (National Japan), 3 Nos - Providing and fixing LED street light 150 Watt Aluminum die cast IP-66 with powder coated housing, 136 Nos - Dismantling of street light fittings 250 watts with hydraulic crane, 136 Nos - Dismantling of street light poles 31/40ft with hydraulic crane, 136 Nos - Providing ABC connectors suitable for 16mm ABC bundle cable, 81 Nos The technical scope includes removal of old and damaged components, installation of new cables, circuit breakers, photo cells, and LED street lights with high efficiency and durability. The work will be executed under the supervision of the Executive Engineer, CM(E&M), Engineering Department, Karachi Metropolitan Corporation. Eligibility criteria require bidders to have valid PEC registration in categories C-6, EE-06 or above, NTN certificate, Sindh Revenue Board registration, valid Electric Contractors License from the Electrical Inspector Government of Sindh (Karachi Region), and proof of executing similar works in the last five years with financial soundness. Bids must be submitted online through the EPADS system by 21-08-2026 at 10:00 AM. The bid opening will take place on the same day at 10:30 AM at the Office of Superintending Engineer (E&M), 512 J.M New M.A. Jinnah Road, Gurumandir, Karachi. A bid security of 5% of the estimated cost and a tender cost of Rs. 5,000 are required. The bid validity period is 90 days.
