Tender Description
The National Grid Company of Pakistan Limited (NGC) invites electronic bids for the Installation, Erection, Testing & Commissioning of a 220/132 KV 160 MVA Auto Transformer at 220 kV Grid Station Jhamphir II, located in Hyderabad, Sindh. The procurement is under tender number XEN-EHV-II-NGC-HYD-02-2026 with reference P83992 and will be conducted through a National Single Stage-One Envelope bidding procedure on the EPADS v2.0 platform.
Items being procured:
- Transportation, loading and unloading of 160 MVA 220/132 kV transformer main body filled with oil
- Transportation and unloading of oil containers, conservator tank, radiators, cooling fans
- Transportation and unloading of control cables, connectors, disc insulators, conductors
- Transportation and unloading of 198 KV and 120 KV lightning arrestors with bushings
- Clearing and grubbing of site area including removal of bushes, trees, roots, weeds
- Supply and installation of PVC conduits of various diameters (50mm, 100mm, 150mm)
- Civil works including trench work, mechanical and electrification works in control house, switchyard and metering room
- Installation, erection, testing and commissioning of 160 MVA 220/132 kV autotransformer assembly including oil dehydration, vacuuming, and all associated works
- Installation, erection, testing and commissioning of 220 & 132 kV single pole surge arrestors with steel supporting structures
- Installation, erection, testing and commissioning of any other equipment necessary for proper operation
The scope includes all civil works, cable trenches, foundations, erection of equipment, control and protection panels, wiring, testing and commissioning as per NTDC specifications. Bidders must be registered with PEC in the relevant category, on the Active Taxpayers List of FBR, and have experience in similar 220 kV or higher rating substations with at least one 220 kV transmission line bay and one autotransformer bay.
Bids must be accompanied by a bid security of Rs. 600,000 in the form of Pay Order or Call Deposit. Bidding documents are available from the office of the Executive Engineer, TLC Division, EHV-II, NGC Hyderabad. Bids must be submitted electronically on EPADS v2.0 by 10:00 AM on September 3, 2026, and will be opened the same day at 11:30 AM. Manual bids will not be accepted.
The contract period for completion is 180 days from commencement. The contract includes a 180-day defect liability period. Performance security of 10% of contract price will be required from the successful bidder. The contract will be governed by the laws of Pakistan and FIDIC Red Book conditions with NTDC special conditions.
One practical tip for bidders: Ensure timely registration on EPADS v2.0 and carefully review all bidding documents and addenda. Prepare all required documents including PEC registration, tax certificates, and experience certificates to avoid disqualification. Technical and financial bids must be submitted electronically before the deadline to be considered.
