Tender Description
Air University, Islamabad, invites sealed bids for the operation and management of the Hostel Mess Complex and Main Cafeteria at its newly established BAHU Campus in Shorkot, District Jhang. This contract covers running the mess and cafeteria serving approximately 400 to 500 students, faculty, and staff. The scope includes management of cafeteria services, provision and installation of kitchen equipment, crockery, cutlery, serving counters, branding work, and any additional furniture required. The department responsible is Air University, a reputable educational and research institution based in Islamabad.
The technical scope requires bidders to establish a complete kitchen setup including modern industrial kitchen equipment, exhaust systems, and washing areas. The contractor must maintain hygienic conditions, provide quality food using reputed local brands, and ensure staff wear uniforms and ID badges. The mess serves three meals daily with a fixed price list and monthly rent offers starting at PKR 50,000 for the cafeteria and PKR 100,000 for the hostel mess. The contract duration is initially one year with possible extension based on performance.
Eligibility criteria include a minimum of five years' experience running hostel messes or cafeterias in reputed organizations or universities, FBR/ATL registration, and no blacklisting by any government department. Bidders must submit a technical proposal with company profile, affidavits, and relevant experience details, along with a financial proposal including monthly rent and bid security of PKR 40,000 in the form of a CDR. The tender documents are available at Air University Main Campus and can be downloaded from www.au.edu.pk. Bidders must apply through EPADS.
The tender submission deadline is 07 May 2026 at 1100 hours at Air University Main Campus, Sector E-9, Islamabad. Technical bids will be opened the same day at 1130 hours. Financial bids of technically qualified bidders will be opened subsequently. A practical tip for bidders is to ensure all required documents are complete and signed as per checklist to avoid technical disqualification. Also, visiting the site at BAHU Campus before bidding is highly recommended to understand the operational environment and requirements.
This tender offers a significant opportunity for experienced catering firms to partner with a prestigious university and manage a large-scale food service operation under clear terms and conditions with a focus on quality, hygiene, and compliance with Air University guidelines.
