Pre-Qualification of Firms for High Tensile Steel Structure Works at Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works Ltd

Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works Ltd invites reputed firms and contractors for Pre-Qualification to undertake specialized construction works involving high tensile steel structures. This opportunity is specifically for firms experienced in processing, fabrication, part assembly, welding, grinding, surface preparation, de-rusting, and application of marine protective coatings on steel structures used in ships, marine, dry dock, and other steel structures. The scope includes: - Processing of high tensile steel structure - Fabrication of high tensile steel structure - Part assembly of high tensile steel structure - Welding of pre-assembled structure in flat, horizontal, fillet, and vertical positions - Fairing and grinding of weld seams for visual inspection - Manual and mechanical de-rusting and surface preparation using hand and power tools to achieve ISO 8501-1 St 3 standard - Abrasive blast cleaning/grit blasting to achieve Sa2.5 standard as per ISO 8501-1 and ISO 12944-4 - Application of approved marine protective coating systems including primer, intermediate, and finishing coats by airless spray, conventional spray, roller, or brush in accordance with manufacturer's technical data and ISO 12944-5/7 - Measurement and control of wet and dry film thickness as per specified coating systems Firms must demonstrate prior experience in fabrication, processing, welding, grinding, surface preparation, and coating application preferably involving epoxy and other high-performance marine coatings. Pre-Qualification documents can be obtained from the concerned department on any working day (Monday to Friday) between 0830 to 1600 hours from the date of advertisement upon payment of a non-refundable pay order of Rs. 2,000 issued by any scheduled bank of Pakistan in favor of Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works Ltd with 90 days validity. Applications must be submitted in sealed envelopes clearly marked 'APPLICATION FOR PRE-QUALIFICATION FOR WHICH REGISTRATION IS DESIRED' and must reach the undersigned by 26 September 2026.
