Tender Description
The Privatisation Commission of Pakistan is inviting expressions of interest for the privatisation of three major electric supply companies: Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO), Gujranwala Electric Power Company (GEPCO), and Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO). This procurement opportunity involves the acquisition of 51% to 100% share capital along with management control in each of these companies. The process aims to facilitate interested parties and ensure a competitive bidding environment.
The technical scope includes the transfer of ownership and management control of these electric supply companies, which are key players in the power distribution sector in their respective regions. The companies serve large customer bases in Faisalabad, Gujranwala, and Islamabad, making this a significant opportunity for investors and firms with expertise in energy sector management and operations.
Interested bidders should be well-versed with the regulatory and operational frameworks governing electric supply companies in Pakistan. While specific PEC categories are not applicable, firms must comply with all relevant FBR and ATL registrations and demonstrate experience in managing large-scale utility companies or similar enterprises.
The submission deadlines have been extended to accommodate more participants: FESCO submissions are due by 7th August 2026 at 16:00 PKT, GEPCO by 21st August 2026 at 16:00 PKT, and IESCO by 7th September 2026 at 16:00 PKT. Bidders should submit their documents to the Privatisation Commission office as per the instructions on the official website.
A practical tip for bidders is to ensure their expression of interest is comprehensive and clearly demonstrates their capability to manage and improve the operational efficiency of these companies. Early preparation of the technical and financial bids, along with timely submission before the deadlines, will enhance the chances of successful participation in this high-profile privatisation process.
