Tender Description
The Indent and Purchase Section, Karachi of the Pakistan Meteorological Department is procuring a 20KVA solar power system for its Camp Office Building located in Gulistan-e-Johar, Karachi. This procurement aims to solarize the facility to ensure a sustainable and reliable energy supply integrated with the existing K-Electric grid, reducing dependency on conventional energy sources.
The technical scope includes supply and installation of high-efficiency monocrystalline bifacial solar panels with a minimum 25-year performance warranty, a three-phase on-grid solar inverter with advanced protections and remote monitoring features, and a robust galvanized steel mounting structure designed to withstand harsh environmental conditions including high wind loads and sandstorms. The installation will also include appropriate civil works, wiring with UV-resistant cables, IP67 rated junction boxes, surge protection devices, and lightning rods with grounding compliant to NEPRA rules.
Eligible bidders must be registered suppliers on the Active Taxpayer List (ATL) of FBR and provide a bid security in the form of a pay order. The procurement follows the Least Cost Based Selection (LCBS) method. Bidders should submit their bids electronically via EPADS v2.0 by the deadline of June 7, 2026, 10:00 AM. The technical bid must include a brochure of the solar system. Manual submissions will not be entertained.
A practical tip for bidders is to ensure timely registration on EPADS v2.0 and submission of the original bid security physically at the specified address before the deadline to avoid disqualification. Also, carefully review the detailed technical specifications and warranty requirements to prepare a compliant and competitive bid.
