Tender Description
This tender invites bids for the procurement of 220kV substation equipment for the Nowshera and Jamrud substations under the Power Transmission Strengthening Project in Lahore. The National Grid Company of Pakistan Limited (NGC) requires specialized electrical components including 220kV connectors, aluminum tubes, string assemblies, 198kV surge arrestors, and 245kV post insulators. These materials are critical for enhancing the transmission infrastructure in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, ensuring reliable power delivery and system stability.
The procurement is divided into two lots: Lot I covers connectors, aluminum tubes, and string assemblies, while Lot II includes surge arrestors and post insulators. The equipment must meet stringent technical specifications and be suitable for high voltage applications. Bidders must demonstrate at least five years of manufacturing experience with similar or higher rated goods and provide evidence of satisfactory operation of supplied equipment for a minimum of three years. The project site locations in Nowshera and Jamrud present logistical and engineering challenges that require robust and durable components.
Bidders should ensure compliance with PEC registration requirements and maintain an active FBR ATL status for the fiscal year 2025-26. The tender documents specify the need for earnest money in the form of a Call Deposit Receipt (CDR) and adherence to all regulatory and financial obligations. It is advisable to review the PEC category and FBR status carefully to avoid disqualification.
The deadline for bid submission is set for 17th February 2026 at 11:00 AM Pakistan Standard Time. Bids must be delivered in sealed envelopes to the office of the Chief Engineer (Material Procurement & Management), 8th Floor, Shaheen Complex, Egerton Road, Lahore. The technical bids will be opened promptly after the deadline in the presence of bidders' representatives who choose to attend.
Pro-Tip: Make sure to attend the pre-bid meeting scheduled for 21st January 2026 at 2:00 PM at the NGC Lahore office. This session provides crucial clarifications and helps avoid common pitfalls such as missing the specific stamp duty and earnest money requirements outlined in the bidding documents.
