Tender Description
The Cantonment Board Clifton in Karachi is procuring miscellaneous items essential for the repair and maintenance of dewatering equipment to address rain emergency requirements for the year 2026. This procurement is critical to ensure operational readiness and timely response during heavy rainfall periods in Clifton Cantt area.
The technical scope includes supply of various heavy-duty pipes such as nylon flexible suction pipes of different diameters, rubber suction pipes, brass and CI foot valves, flat delivery pipes made of PVC 3 ply, MS clips and joints, pump nipples, canopy tents, rain long shoes, tarpaulins, emergency lights, and hand tools like spades and pick axes. The quantities range from tens to thousands of units, indicating a large-scale procurement to maintain and repair dewatering systems effectively.
Eligible bidders must be registered with the Federal Board of Revenue and appear on the Active Taxpayers List. Firms should have relevant experience supported by documentary evidence of similar services undertaken in the last three years. Financial stability and technical staff credentials are also required. The tender form is available from the Cantonment Board Clifton office upon payment of a non-refundable fee. Earnest Money in the form of a 5% bid security is mandatory, and bids must comply with PPRA Rules 2004.
The submission deadline is strictly enforced, with bids to be submitted by 12:30 PM on the closing date. The single stage two envelope procedure will be followed, requiring separate technical and financial proposals. Bidders are advised to ensure their bids are free from overwriting and complete with all required documents to avoid disqualification.
A practical tip for bidders is to maintain a local presence or authorized service support in Karachi to ensure timely delivery and after-sales support, which is a key evaluation criterion. This will enhance the chances of technical qualification and successful award of the contract.
