Tender Description
This tender invites bids for the providing and fixing of paving blocks at Ward 1, 2, 3 & 4 UC-04, TMC Ibrahim Hyderi, District Malir under the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation Engineering Department. The project involves comprehensive civil works including excavation, laying of RCC pipes, construction of manholes, refilling trenches, dismantling road metalling, pumping water from trenches, manufacturing and supplying RCC manhole covers and ring slabs, earthwork excavation, cartage of materials, preparation of sub-base, aggregate base course, and the installation of cement paving blocks.
Items being procured:
- Excavation for pipeline in trenches and pits in soft rocks (18,000 Cft)
- Providing fence guards, lights, flags, and temporary crossings
- Laying RCC pipes ASTM 76-70 class-II (500 Rft, 12" diameter)
- Constructing manholes/inspection chambers (10 units, 3'-6" depth)
- Refilling excavated trenches (16,200 Cft)
- Dismantling and removing road metalling (1,125 Cft)
- Pumping set hire charges per day (10 days)
- Manufacturing and supplying RCC manhole covers (50 units)
- Manufacturing and supplying RCC ring slabs (30 units)
- Earthwork excavation in ordinary soil (3,468 P/Cft)
- Cartage of materials (22,593 Cft)
- Preparing sub-base with pit or bed run gravel (9,000 Cft)
- Providing and laying aggregate base course (24,000 Cft)
- Providing and fixing cement paving blocks (56,000 P/Sft)
- Repair of leakage of RCC and MS pipe lines under road/street way (various diameters and quantities)
The technical scope covers excavation, pipe laying, manhole construction, sub-base preparation, and paving block installation with materials meeting specified standards. The site is located in Karachi, Sindh, and the works must comply with the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation Engineering Department specifications and drawings.
Eligibility criteria include valid PEC registration in relevant categories, NTN and SRB active taxpayer status, experience in similar government sector works with completion certificates, and availability of required machinery such as bulldozers, motor graders, dump trucks, excavators, water pumps, and survey equipment. Bidders must submit a bid security of 5% of the estimated cost and an integrity pact on stamp paper worth Rs. 200. The bid validity period is 90 days.
