Tender Description
The Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS), Karachi, is procuring comprehensive repair and maintenance services for all Passenger and Patients/Bed Lifts installed across its campuses including DMC, Ojha, and DIDCH 50 Bedded Hospital. This contract aims to ensure the efficient, safe, and uninterrupted operation of these lifts through preventive and corrective maintenance by qualified technicians and engineers.
The scope includes monthly and quarterly maintenance activities such as inspection, cleaning, lubrication, adjustment of mechanical and electrical components, safety checks, and timely replacement of parts. The contractor must maintain detailed service logs, complaint registers, and provide 24/7 service coverage with response times within 2-3 hours and resolution on the same day. The contract requires maintaining over 80% uptime, with higher expectations for hospital lifts.
Eligible bidders must have at least five years of experience, valid FBR/ATL registration, a repair/maintenance workshop in Karachi, and PEC registration if applicable. They must employ at least one full-time graduate engineer and three qualified technicians with relevant experience. The bidder should have completed at least two similar projects in the last five years with supporting performance certificates.
Tender fee is Rs. 5,000 non-refundable, and earnest money (Bid Security) is Rs. 200,000 in the form of CDR or bank guarantee. Bids must be submitted online via EPADS before the deadline. Technical bids will be evaluated first, followed by financial bids of technically qualified bidders. The contract period is initially 12 months, extendable for another 12 months subject to performance.
Bidders should carefully prepare their technical and financial proposals, ensuring all mandatory documents and certifications are included. A practical tip: ensure your technical bid is complete and original documents are ready for verification to avoid disqualification. Submission deadlines and bid opening dates are strictly enforced by DUHS and SPPRA rules.
