Tender Description
Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works Ltd (KS&EW), a premier shipbuilding and repair yard located in Karachi, Sindh, is procuring miscellaneous repair and maintenance services for marine vessels under Order No CSR-10361. This procurement is specifically for the Ship Repair Division and involves a variety of repair and maintenance tasks essential for the upkeep and operational readiness of marine vessels.
The technical scope includes diverse repair works and maintenance activities at the shipyard site. Interested bidders must have proven experience in marine vessel repair work and be registered with the Income Tax and Sales Tax Departments. The procurement process requires submission of sealed Technical and Commercial bids, with the technical proposal evaluated first based on prequalification criteria detailed in the bidding documents.
Bidders should ensure they meet all eligibility requirements including valid FBR registration and relevant experience in the marine repair sector. The bidding documents, containing detailed specifications, terms and conditions, and instructions for submission, are available at the Ship Repair Division of KS&EW for a non-refundable fee of PKR 3,000. The deadline for bid submission is **13 May 2026 at 1100 hrs**, with technical bids opening the same day at 1400 hrs.
A practical tip for bidders is to carefully prepare the Technical Bid to fully comply with the prequalification criteria and submit the Earnest Money in the form of a CDR as required. This will ensure the bid is considered technically responsive and avoids disqualification at the initial stage. Timely submission at the Ship Repair Division, West Wharf Road, Karachi, is critical to avoid rejection. This tender offers a valuable opportunity for qualified marine repair contractors to engage with a leading government shipyard and contribute to Pakistan's maritime infrastructure.
