Tender Description
The Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi invites bids for the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of an 850 KVA diesel standby generator set without canopy at its Main Campus located in University Enclave, Karachi. This procurement is critical for ensuring uninterrupted power supply to the Powerhouse at IBA. The scope includes supply and installation of a complete diesel generator set, associated civil works such as construction of radiator ducting and exhaust system, electrical wiring including control panels and switchgear, earthing, and ventilation systems.
Items being procured:
- 1x 850 KVA Diesel Generator Set (make FG Wilson, Cummins CPG, Kohler/Rehlko, Caterpillar) without canopy
- Generator control panel and switchgear
- Connecting cables from DG sets to distribution/main panel
- Earthing system including electrodes and copper busbars
- Generator room lighting and ventilation system
- Anti-vibration spring isolators
- Supply and installation of power and control cables (300 sq.mm, 95 sq.mm, 1.5 sq.mm as specified)
- Earth electrodes with copper rods and busbars
The technical scope requires the generator to be tropicalized for ambient conditions up to 50°C and 95% relative humidity, with a diesel engine rated for continuous duty and capable of 10% overload for one hour. The alternator must be PMG-excited, self-regulated, and meet specified protection and insulation classes. The contractor is responsible for transportation, crane arrangements, synchronization, and load sharing with existing gensets at site. The site visit is mandatory before bid submission.
Eligibility criteria include registration with Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) in category C-4 with generator specialization ME-03, OEM certification from specified manufacturers, and proven experience in supply and commissioning of similar capacity gensets. Bid security, performance security, and compliance with all bidding instructions are mandatory.
