Tender Description
This tender invites qualified contractors in Karachi to undertake the supply and installation of utilities pipelines at Berth No. III of Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works Limited. The project involves stainless steel pipelines of various diameters and fittings including fire fighting lines, compressed air, oxygen, and Sui gas lines. The scope covers supply, installation, and fixing of SS brackets with epoxy paint, along with pumps and motors. The work demands precision and adherence to engineering standards given the marine and industrial environment of the shipyard.
The contractor must be registered with the Pakistan Engineering Council in category C-2 or above and hold valid registrations with the Income Tax Department and Sindh Revenue Board. The project requires careful site inspection due to tidal and sub-soil conditions at the dockyard. The Bill of Quantities includes detailed items such as SS pipes, elbows, tees, flanges, valves, and clamps, all conforming to Grade 316/316L standards. Completion time is two months, with a six-month defects liability period.
Bidders should ensure compliance with PEC registration and maintain an active FBR/ATL status for the financial year 2025-26. The tender requires a bid security of PKR 500,000 and performance security of 10% of the contract value. Mobilization advance up to 10% is available against a bank guarantee. The contractor must follow KSEW's safety and security protocols strictly.
Submission deadline is on the 4th of July 2024 by 23:59:59. Bids must be submitted in sealed envelopes to the Services & Civil Works Department, Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works Limited, West Wharf Dockyard Road, Karachi. Technical and financial bids should be sealed separately and then placed in a single envelope. Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders who choose to attend.
Pro-Tip: Ensure the bid documents are fully signed and stamped on all pages and double-check the bid security validity and format. Missing or incorrect bid security is a common cause for disqualification. Also, verify the PEC category and FBR status carefully before submission.
