Tender Description
The Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO) in Multan, Punjab, is procuring a specialized V Core Cutting Machine designed for transformer core lamination cutting. This procurement is critical for the Transformer Reclamation Workshop (TRW) in Multan and aims to enhance the precision and efficiency of core cutting operations.
Items being procured:
- V CORE CUTTING MACHINE (1 unit)
This machine is intended for manually controlled cutting of silicon steel laminations used in transformer cores. It supports various cutting shapes including V-notches for step-lap cores, straight cuts at 90 degrees, mitered cuts such as 45 degrees, bevel angles, parallelograms, and fish-head shapes. The machine accommodates material thickness from approximately 0.23 to 0.6 mm and widths from 30 to 600 mm. It features a swing or fixed shear cutting device with carbide alloy blades, a dedicated V-notching unit, guide rails for material alignment, and a manual stacking table with optional conveyor for semi-automatic transfer. The cutting speed ranges from 20 to 50 pieces per minute with a production capacity of about 1 ton of lamination strips per 8-hour shift. The machine operates on 380-400V, 50Hz power supply with a 5 HP three-phase motor and measures approximately 36x30x82 inches.
The scope includes installation, commissioning, and training of TRW staff to ensure proper operation and maintenance. Bidders must comply with PEC category requirements, be registered with FBR and ATL, and demonstrate relevant experience supplying similar equipment to public or private sectors. Manufacturer authorization is mandatory if the bidder is not the manufacturer.
The bid submission deadline is **August 5, 2026, 12:00 PM** via EPADS v2.0. Manual bids will not be accepted. Bid security in the form of Pay Order, Banker's Cheque, Call Deposit, or Bank Guarantee is required and must be submitted physically before the deadline to MEPCO Complex, Wapda Colony, Khanewal Road, Multan. The technical and financial bids will be opened on the same day at 12:30 PM on EPADS v2.0.
A practical tip for bidders: Ensure your bid documents fully comply with the technical specifications and include all required certificates such as manufacturer authorization, performance reports, and staff availability for warranty support. Early registration on EPADS v2.0 and thorough understanding of the bidding process will enhance your chances of success.
