Tender Description
This tender notice from Military Engineer Services (MES), Garrison Engineer (Army) II Malir, Karachi, invites contractors for various construction and maintenance works at Malir Cantt. The scope includes construction of miscellaneous minor works, repair and renovation of residential and non-residential buildings, and technical and electrical maintenance across different zones within the cantonment area. The estimated cost for each major work is up to PKR 4 million.
The works involve civil and electrical engineering tasks requiring experienced contractors familiar with the local site conditions in Karachi. Contractors must be prepared to handle structural repairs, building maintenance, and supply of bazar materials for both building and electrical maintenance items. The site’s urban environment and security protocols of a cantonment area add complexity to the execution.
Contractors must be registered with Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) in categories A, B, C, D, or E and have a valid FBR Active Taxpayer List (ATL) status for the fiscal year 2025-26. Firms not on MES’s approved list must submit detailed experience certificates for works executed in the last two years. Compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, including litigation clearance certificates, is mandatory.
The submission deadline is set for 27 March 2026, with bids opening at 12:00 PM on the same day. Applications and tender documents must be submitted to the office of GE (Army) II Malir by 11:30 AM. Interested contractors should ensure timely submission of sealed hard copies as per instructions.
Pro-Tip: Carefully review the tender documents for the required Earnest Money and Call Deposit Receipt (CDR) details. Many bidders overlook the specific stamp duty and certification requirements, which can lead to disqualification during technical evaluation.
