Conversion of 66 kV Grid Station Khipro into 132 kV AIS Substation and Transmission Line

The Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (HESCO) invites bids for a significant electrical infrastructure project in Hyderabad, Sindh. This procurement involves the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning for the conversion of the existing 66 kV Grid Station at Khipro into a 132 kV Air-Insulated Substation (AIS). The project includes installing one 20/26 MVA power transformer and constructing a 132 kV feeding transmission line from the 132 kV Kandiari Grid Station. Additionally, the contract covers the construction of a 35 km double circuit transmission line between Kandiari and Khipro Grid Stations. This project is part of the Electricity Distribution Efficiency Improvement Project (EDEIP) funded by the World Bank. The scope demands expertise in electrical works and power equipment, specifically in high voltage substation conversion and transmission line construction. Eligible bidders should have relevant PEC categories, valid FBR registration, and proven experience in similar scale projects. The technical bid must be supported by earnest money in the form of bid security amounting to PKR 13 million for the substation conversion and PKR 20 million for the transmission line construction. Bidders can obtain further information from the Chief Engineer (Development) PMU HESCO office in Hyderabad during office hours. The bidding documents are available free of cost on HESCO's official website. A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for 22-06-2026. All bids must be submitted physically by 16 July 2026 at 11:00 AM to the PMU HESCO office at Bungalow A-1, HESCO Power Wing Colony, Hussainabad, Hyderabad. Late or electronic bids will not be accepted.
