Tender Description
This tender invites bids for the disposal of unserviceable and scrap materials located at various MEPCO stores in Multan, Sahiwal, and Bahawalpur. The Multan Electric Power Company Limited (MEPCO) requires interested bidders to submit sealed bids for items including meters, conductors, iron scrap, and transformer empty bodies. The disposal is on an 'As is Where is' basis, with inspection allowed during working hours at the specified stores. The scope covers lifting and removal of scrap materials, requiring bidders to arrange their own transportation and labor, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and PPE requirements.
The contract involves handling diverse scrap items such as 3-phase meters, ACSR conductors, AAC conductors, iron scrap, and various transformer empty bodies of different KVA ratings. These materials are spread across MEPCO stores in Multan, Sahiwal, and Bahawalpur, presenting logistical challenges in coordination and timely removal. Bidders must be prepared to manage the lifting within 21 days of release order issuance, adhering to MEPCO's safety and operational guidelines.
Bidders must be GST registered and appear on the Active Taxpayers List of FBR. Compliance with PEC categories is not applicable as this is a disposal contract, but bidders should ensure their tax and legal status is clear for the 2025-26 financial year. Submission requires earnest money in the form of a Call Deposit Receipt (CDR) as per tender specifications. MEPCO reserves the right to reject any bid under PPRA Rule-33 and enforces strict anti-corruption policies.
The submission deadline is on the 16th of April, 2026, with bid opening scheduled shortly after at the MEPCO Procurement Office located at MEPCO Complex, Wapda Colony, Khanewal Road, Multan. Bidders or their authorized representatives are encouraged to attend the public opening session. Tender documents can be obtained from the Director Procurement Distribution MEPCO office upon payment of a non-refundable fee.
Pro-Tip: Ensure to visit the MEPCO stores during the inspection period to verify the condition and quantity of scrap materials firsthand. This helps avoid surprises during lifting and ensures accurate bidding. Also, carefully review the tender's penalty clauses related to lifting delays and payment timelines to avoid financial penalties.
